The Texas Rangers Wives have teamed up with Brookshire Grocery Company and McCormick Seasoning and Spices to produce the second edition of a Texas Rangers Family Cookbook, "Cook Like A Pro." The 2009 Cook Like A Pro Wives Cookbook is on sale for only $25, which includes tax, shipping, & handling.

Proceeds will benefit Captain Hope's Kids and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

Verso is a unique clothing store in Uptown Dallas Coffering selectively chosen merchandise that benefits various causes. On Thursday, May 28, 2009, Verso sold baby clothing benefiting Melanoma awareness, and matched each baby item purchased. Participants who donated used clothing or made a monetary donation for “Dollars for Diapers” received 20% off of purchases for the evening.

On May 2, the Greater Frisco Chapter (GFC) of Jack and Jill of America, Inc celebrated its 2nd Annual National Black Family Day.  The purpose of the event was to acknowledge the solidarity and culture of the African American family.

Lori Sanchez, implemented “Jeans Day” in September, 2007. Employees have the option to contribute $5.00 on Wednesdays and $2.50 on Thursdays to Captain Hope’s Kids for the privilege to wear jeans to work. They have about 90% participation in the office and the first 12 months yielded $2,250 to benefit the wonderful programs administered by Captain Hope’s Kids.

Captain Hope’s Kids partnered with Spire Realty Group on July 18^th to host a Sidewalk Chalk Art Event for fifty children from our partner agencies. Our Kids visited Bryan Tower

In recognition of the “Week of the Young Child”, Captain Hope’s Kids celebrated young children by hosting a carnival in their honor at our partner agency, Nexus Recovery Center. The theme of the carnival was health and safety. Parents brought their children to celebrate and participate in this spectacular carnival event.

There were booths on teaching your child how to call 911, wash thier hands and brush their teeth. A representitive of the USDA gave them tips on eating healthy.
